Mexican-Palestinian Solidarity

Solidarity runs deeps β from the barrios to the blocks β our struggles are connected, and so is our resistance. Whether under constant threat of I.C.E. raids or military bombardment, resilience is stitched into both flags π΅πΈπ²π½
The fight for our dignity, for our culture, and for our liberation is ongoing. Coming off the heels of last nightβs catastrophic airstrikes on Palestine, and the inhumane detainment and deportation of Latin American immigrants within the U.S. (and notably, Jeanette Vizguerra, here in Denver), we hope this image challenges the viewer to recognize the parallels in state-sanctioned violence against both Mexico and Palestine.
Both peoples share a common history of colonialism, displacement, and systemic oppression. Itβs a struggle that transcends borders, touching every corner of the globe.
By juxtaposing these two cultures, and adding the lowrider as a backdrop, weβre highlighting the intersection of cultural identity and political defiance, while also tying this moment to concepts of self-determination and reclamation of space, something I hope is a common theme in my work.
