Justice for Elijah McClain - Aurora, CO (6/27/2020)
Elijah McClain was murdered by the Aurora Police Department back in August 2019. Elijah was choked by officers and then drugged with ketamine by EMT — he had a heart attack that night and died a few days later. Aurora’s district attorney refused to charge any of the officers who were involved. Photos later surfaced of three different Aurora PD officers mocking the chokehold used on Elijah (those officers have since been terminated).
The Governor of Colorado has since reopened the investigation.
On June 27, 2020, a day of peaceful protests followed by a violin vigil (in memory of the young man who played the violin for animals at a local shelter) was met with violence and pepper spray from the Aurora PD.
To this day, neither of the officers or EMT have been charged or arrested in connection with Elijah’s murder. To donate to his family and help them continue their fight against the City of Aurora and its police department, click here.
