DACA Rally at Auraria Campus
On September 5, 2017, President Donald Trump ordered an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. The Obama-era program allows undocumented young adults to live, study, and work in the United States without fear of deportation. In response, people across the country gathered to show their support for the DACA program and its recipients. With Trump's decision, some 700,000+ undocumented citizens were effectively left in limbo about their future status. Republicans and Democrats in Washington D.C. have yet to reach a deal as a March 2018 deadline to fix DACA approaches.
