Councilwoman Jamie Torres Partners with Photographer Armando Geneyro to bring District 3 Virtual
Denver, CO -- Councilwoman Jamie Torres has partnered with Photographer, Armando Geneyro, to provide a series of virtual background images featuring District 3 landmarks, views, and community.
“District 3 is full of scenic, artistic, memorable, and nostalgic spots. As we spend more time on our computers in meetings, we wanted to give you a chance to showcase your neighborhood pride with some special virtual backgrounds! They may be places that give us comfort, fresh air, food, or spots where we connect with our neighbors and friends. While we adjust to a new normal, let’s share some of our favorite views with others,” said Councilwoman Torres. “Our communication has shifted extensively to virtual calls and online meeting platforms and we cannot lose our connection to our neighbors and neighborhoods. Distance and isolation will have devastating effects on our social and mental health. This public health crisis has not just affected our connectivity, it will also be economically devastating. It is my commitment to continue my fight for the health of my community in the Denver City Council and Armando’s images give me daily reminders of the beauty, pride, and diversity of this District and all of its residents.”
Armando's work has showcased Denver’s communities in their beautiful diversity from Lowrider culture, to Aztec dance, to Denver landmarks and cultural celebrations. Armando is able to share views of community niches and intimate life that most of us don’t get to see. He set off over the course of a week to capture memorable spots throughout District 3 neighborhoods of La Alma/Lincoln Park, Sun Valley, West Colfax, Villa Park, Barnum, Barnum West, Westwood, and Mar Lee for this project.”
